Woodmont Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1999. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
This is a heavily-wooded, rolling course with panoramic views of the surrounding hill country. The narrow fairways mimic the terrain, while the small, well-undulating greens add to the tightness of play. Accurate shot placement is essential, due to one huge lake and several creeks coming into play.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,830 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,198 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 16, a par-5 that plays to 573 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 11, a par-3 that plays to 117 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 8, a 470 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Woodmont is # 11, the 117 yard par-3.

Twilight rates are the best in the area particulary for the conditons. New memeberships are reasonable as well.

Woodmont is still, in my opinion, the best course, by far in the area. I booked on golfnow.com and got an incredible rate of $37. Also, I was the first person to tee off at 7:50 AM. I played solo and finished 18 in 2 hours, 15 min. Looked like the greens had been aerated 2 weeks before. The course has character!! The back nine is very unique with 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's, and 3 par 5's. Play the blue tees. White tees are too short if you want to hit driver on many holes.

Incredibly well trained, polite and friendly staff. Felt like I was playing at an exclusive country club.

This is the best public access course in north Atlanta. Price is the only thing that limits my trips to this course
